Meet Marisa Canino
Hi! I’m Marisa! I’m a painter and mixed-media creator living just outside of Baltimore, MD. After 25 years and three kids, I returned to making art during COVID as a way to keep my sanity intact, and never looked back. Portraits are my love, but I also enjoy creating work featuring wildlife and landscape. Working in mixed-media collage makes my heart happy. It’s like one of those choose your own adventure books - the same beginning can have dozens of different endings, and it’s always a surprise!

What Inspired Stitches is all about:
Join Marisa and Tiffany for an online art workshop inspired by nature! Create two unique textile projects and learn the magic of slow stitching. Marisa will guide you in using fabric scraps, paper scraps, thread, and beads to craft a one-of-a-kind scrappy landscape shadow box. No prior sewing skills are necessary for this fun and textural project. Tiffany will teach you how to manipulate fabrics with resist, bleach, and dye to create a unique wall hanging that brings the outdoors inside.
